A Fixed-Price Room is a dedicated, always-available review room for Remoto Team Accounts. Unlike a one-time session or Time Bundle hours, a Fixed-Price Room does not require calendar scheduling and does not consume one-time session credits. From $650 per month, with no contract required.

Each Room appears as a persistent row on the Playback Dashboard. Organizers can enter a Room when it is available, invite Guests with a lasting join link, run reviews, and reuse the same Room over time.

Fixed-Price Rooms are designed for studios and post teams that need an ongoing review space without repeatedly provisioning one-time sessions. Teams can still purchase or schedule on-demand sessions when they need extra capacity or different stream specs.

Who Fixed-Price Rooms are for

Fixed-Price Rooms require a Team Account. They are not sold as a personal store product the way single sessions or Time Bundles are.

Typical use cases:

  • Recurring editorial or color reviews with the same collaborators
  • A standing “room” link that guests can reuse day after day
  • Predictable monthly cost instead of metering every session

If you only need occasional personal hosting, see Purchasing Playback Sessions and Bundles. For Team Account basics, see What is a Remoto Team Account?.

How to get a Fixed-Price Room

You do not create a Fixed-Price Room from Playback Desktop the way you create a New Session.

  1. Contact Remoto Sales through Build a Plan on the Remoto store, or email sales@remotopro.io.
  2. Remoto provisions a Room license on your Team Account.
  3. Team Admins assign Organizer access so authorized users can host Rooms.
  4. After provisioning, the Room appears as a standing row on the Playback Dashboard for authorized Organizers.

Room limits (guest count and stream quality) are set by the license. The default Fixed-Price Room offering is typically limited to Full HD (1080p), 4:2:0, stereo audio, and up to 10 guests. Those limits cannot be raised for that license after purchase; use an on-demand session if you need higher specs.

Standby vs In Use

State Meaning
Standby The Room is available. An authorized Organizer can configure it and Join as host.
In Use An Organizer has joined and is hosting. Other authorized Organizers who join enter as Guests unless they become host through the reclaim-host flow.

Opening or saving the Schedule modal does not put the Room In Use. The Room becomes In Use only when an eligible Organizer clicks Join.

How to use a Fixed-Price Room (Organizer)

  1. Sign in to Remoto Playback under the Team Account that owns the Room.
  2. On the Dashboard, find the Fixed-Price Room row (status Standby).
  3. Optionally open the Schedule modal to rename the Room, manage participants, or set an optional start time for notifications. Scheduling is optional — Fixed-Price Rooms do not require a calendar booking.
  4. Save the Schedule modal if you made changes. The Room remains Standby.
  5. Click Join. The first eligible Organizer to Join becomes the active host (“join wins”).
  6. Stream Settings opens as a required step before you continue in Studio. Configure settings within Room limits, then Save and Exit.
  7. Start streaming and admit Guests. Guests invited to the Room wait for Organizer admission (no auto-admit).
  8. When the review is done, leave or end the active run. The Room returns to Standby and remains available for the next use. The Guest join link stays the same for the life of the license (as long as guests remain invited).

You cannot delete a Fixed-Price Room from the Dashboard. The Room remains until the license expires or Remoto / Admin revokes it.

Can there be multiple hosts at once?

No. Only one active host can control a Fixed-Price Room at a time.

A Team Account can have multiple users with Organizer capability, and more than one of those users can be present in the Room. Only the active host has host controls. Other eligible Organizers who join while the Room is In Use enter as Guests unless they become host through the flows below.

Who becomes host when the Room is Standby?

Join order (first Join wins). While the Room is Standby, the first eligible Organizer who clicks Join becomes the active host and moves the Room to In Use. Other Organizers who join afterward enter as Guests for that run.

Can hosting be transferred while a session is In Use?

Hosting does not automatically move to another user while the current host is still in the Room.

An eligible Organizer who is already in the Room as a Guest can request Reclaim host from the Participants modal (Studio or Full Screen). The current host must approve the request. If approved, the requester becomes the active host and the previous host becomes a Guest. If declined, nothing changes.

Reclaim host is available only inside the Room, and only to users with the Team-level Organizer role. It is not available from the Dashboard.

What happens if the current host leaves?

Hosting does not automatically switch by join order when the host leaves.

If the active host leaves, disconnects, or loses Organizer entitlement while the Room is In Use:

  1. Remoto checks whether any connected Guests have the Team-level Organizer role for the same Team Account.
  2. If one or more eligible Organizers are present, all of them are prompted to reclaim host (or remain as Guest).
  3. The eligible Organizer who accepts / reclaims becomes the new active host. This is not automatic selection by who joined first.
  4. If no eligible Organizer reclaims host (everyone ignores or declines, or none are present), a 15-minute grace period starts. Guests see a warning that there is no active Organizer.
  5. If no eligible Organizer becomes host before the grace period ends, streaming and video call services stop. Desktop users return to the Dashboard; web users leave the active room experience. The Room returns to Standby and remains available while the license is valid.

Once the Room is Standby again, the next host is again determined by first Join wins.

Hosting rules at a glance

Situation Who becomes host?
Room is Standby; Organizer clicks Join First eligible Organizer to Join (join wins)
Room is In Use; another Organizer joins Joins as Guest (only one host at a time)
Room is In Use; Organizer requests Reclaim host Current host must approve; then requester becomes host
Current host leaves while eligible Organizers are present Eligible Organizers are prompted; whoever reclaims becomes host (not join order)
Host leaves and nobody reclaims 15-minute grace, then Room returns to Standby

Guests and the join link

  • Invited Guests use the same invitation / join flow as other Playback sessions.
  • Guests wait for Organizer admission; there is no auto-admit.
  • The email / join link remains the same for the duration of the Room license while the guest stays invited.
  • Guests may see the Room pinned on their Dashboard when invited.

Stream settings and Capture Agent

  • Stream Settings are configured inside the Room (after Join), and must stay within Room license limits.
  • Settings that exceed Room limits cannot be saved.
  • Remoto Capture Agent is available for Team Accounts and follows Room-aware streaming rules when used with a Fixed-Price Room.

Fixed-Price Rooms vs on-demand sessions

  Fixed-Price Room On-demand / one-time session
Purchase Team Account via Remoto Sales Store (personal) or Team credits
Scheduling Not required Usually scheduled
Dashboard Persistent Standby / In Use row Session row that finishes after use
Credits Does not consume one-time session credits Consumes purchased session / credits
Join link Lasting link for the life of the license Per session
Reuse Same Room reused over time Session ends; new session needed

Teams with Fixed-Price Rooms can still schedule on-demand sessions when they need concurrent capacity or specs outside the Room license.

FAQ

Can Organizers create Fixed-Price Rooms themselves in Playback?

No. Rooms are provisioned when Remoto Sales / operations attaches a Room license to the Team Account. Organizers use Rooms that already appear on the Dashboard.

Can I delete a Fixed-Price Room?

No. Organizers cannot delete the Room from the Dashboard. The Room is removed or unavailable when the license expires, is revoked, or is de-provisioned.

Can multiple Organizers prepare a Standby Room at the same time?

More than one eligible Organizer may open the Schedule modal while the Room is Standby. Only the first to click Join becomes host. After the Room goes In Use, other Organizers with the Schedule modal still open can no longer continue that setup flow for hosting (Save / Join disabled; Cancel remains).
