Playback iOS Companion App Guide
Table of Contents
The Playback iOS Companion App allows invited users to join Remoto Playback sessions from an iOS device. Guests can access both Desktop Only and Desktop & Web sessions directly from the app.
The iOS app is intended for joining and monitoring sessions, not for hosting or managing streams.
Accessing the iOS App
Users can join a Playback session in the iOS app after being invited by an Organizer.
How a Guest joins depends on how the session was configured:
- Some sessions require the Guest to log in with a Remoto account
- Other sessions may allow passwordless joining directly from the invitation email
If passwordless joining is enabled and the Guest taps Join Session from the email invitation on an iOS device, they are redirected into the Playback iOS app to continue joining the session.
Login Page
When the app is launched, users are presented with the Login screen.
From this screen, users can:
- Log in using an existing Remoto account
- Create an account, which opens the device’s default web browser and directs the user to the Remoto Store page
- Reset a password using the Forgot Password option
After successfully logging in, the user is taken to the Dashboard.
